IPTV is using too much of my monthly data cap

by r34p3r88

I have Cox Gigablast with 1250GB data and ever since I got IPTV it has double my data usage does anyone know how to cap data on Cox Panoramic Wifi Modem?

Just get unlimited or watch less tv.

I have Cox Cable as well, I had to add another 500 gigs on my service ($29.99) If you wanted the unlimited its like $49.99. Still cheaper then cable tho.

You must have unlimited internet for IPTV. It used a large amount of data to watch tv. Or just watch a lot less tv if on a monthly data usage limit.

Damn I'm glad I'm In an area where FiOS and optimum battle it out, no caps at all on home internet

Are you closing down the app when you are done watching or just turn off the TV?

jknubb

Unlimited is worth it for iptv

mustardduck

How are you streaming?

The last couple of months, my wife and kids have been home all day every day, streaming IPTV, YouTube, and I've been downloading some PC games and we've never gone over. We've been very close(used 97% one month) but never went over.

Make sure to log out of iptv.

I always tell people to log out all the way. We were not doing that and it was playing in the background on our firestick. We use an antenna for our locals so when the kids would switch to the antenna they wouldn't log out of the iptv and it was running in the background. I noticed it even when we just went out ot the category page. It was weird. But it did help a bit on us using all our data. But in the end we had to go for unlimited. I didn't want to but it's nice now. We don't have to meter our wifi.

maybe use a provider who supports SD streams, which would/should use less data

back out of apps when done. Watch low bandwidth channels when possible
