Do I require a VPN with IPTV service?

by Darkox91

Hey folks,

I am in the process of setting up my first IPTV service as my cable bill is a scam. Saw some comments about a VPN. Thoughts?

I don't know a ton about VPNs but are they always connected? Just thinking about my wife who likes to watch tv and how to keep it simple for her.

Thanks!

Probably necessary in my mind. Cable companies will catch on to what site your connecting to and will degrade your speed substantially. I’ve had IPVanish since day 1. You can set it so it always reconnects if it ever disconnects.

You don't need a VPN for it. 99% of the time it will cause problems. The only people who insist you need VPN for IPTV are people selling VPNs. Just use crypto or disposable credit card for payment, not PayPal or your own card, and put in fake info if asked. Your ISP doesn't care (it is in their best interest NOT to care), and the alphabet soup agencies that shut down providers don't go after customers.

I use one. I use HMA with great speed. I would always use one. An ounce of caution..........

Some IPTV providers will have their services running behind a VPN anyway so having a second running alongside can cause issues.

It’s apps like Cinema HD you need to be wary of. They use torrents so could land you on bother if not behind a VPN. Don’t use Cinema HD though if you’re going to the trouble of buying a VPN. For the content your IPTV provider doesn’t supply, find working access to Pirate Bay/Kickass and download there then use Plex. You’re more in control that way. In my opinion of course.
