Number of connections question

by kelpwool

I'm new to IPTV and have found a provider I'm interested in, The service offers 2 connections does this mean 2 devices only in the same household/ IP address or can I connect to 2 seperate IP addresses /home work simultaneously?

Best to ask the provider if there are any IP restrictions.

2 separate devices at the same time. Could be different location doesn't matter.

I have been using the same service for over 3 years now and the way around the multi being in same ip is to connect both devices to same vpn and then you are good to go. I’ve never had a problem as they show up from same ip

Not to sound like a prick but wouldn't this be best directed at who you're buying from? They will tell you and most importantly if your ip locked as if you're using a vpn then locked multiple connections are useless

Both

Usually, with standard panels, IP does not matter for connection limit. The 2 connections you mention are exactly that, 2 connections. To explain:

If you have 2 devices, each can watch 1 channel at a time on each device. Does not need to be same channel on both.

If you have one decide, it could watch 2 channels at a time (for example Picture in Picture/PIP as one and other as main).

If you are away from home and no stream is used at home, only one connection is used when you use remotely and you could even share second to someone else at that time.

Connections standardly refer to devices at the same time, regardless of location.

This is familiar to anyone who uses or used Netflix, as they use same basis. You can share account but have device limit. Think of it the same.

I think they go by Mac address of the box once registered on their network...so 2 different boxes anywhere

Ask the provider you're buying from they do IP lock. If it's not then it's usually both.
