What are canucks doing for BTC purchase and payment?

by adcanis

As the title says, ive always just stuck with PayPal but that seems to not be an option and trying to find a new payment method looked into cashapp and venmo but they're a no go as well. So I'd like to do BTC but it looks like the Canadian banks have banned the purchase of crypto. Any suggestions?

Setup any crypto wallet. You can fund it various ways.

Canadians shakepay and fund through etransfer. Coinbase and paxful as others said are good as well. Don't forget to ask for referral links for free money, eg shakepay you get $10 once you buy $100 in crypto in your wallet.

You can also get a hardware wallet like trezor or ledger and fund it by sending from a crypto atm. Probably one of the most anonymous way to use crypto.

I pay via etransfer for my subscription , but use btc via coinbase for other things at times. I used my mastercard to put money in the last time, but had to call them. My bank and visa was blocked as well.

Look into Localcoin . If you live in a larger urban area there probably are some kiosks, variety stores with cash machines that support buying of Bitcoin.
Update: I wouldn't use any direct way from your bank to buy digital coin as some suggest, if you value your privacy, especially if what one is doing is semi-legal or illegal. Many of these ITV services are schetchy so I don't think you want any trace back to yourself. LOL

Use Coinbase Pro instead of basic Coinbase, it's got zero fees.

Canadians banks certainly haven't banned buying crypto, cause I'm with a Canadian bank & can buy from Coinbase, that is the first place they would ban as it's the largest crypto exchange.

Also it wouldn't be a smart idea for banks to start deciding what you can do or cant do with your money by banning online web stores, cause it's your money after all.
