can anyone comment on picture quality comparison? thanks.
can anyone comment on picture quality comparison? thanks.
I have both, I'd go Shield.
Firestick picture is fantastic
Nvidia shield but honestly it’s going to depend on more than just the device (Your TV, the HDMI cable, your internet capability, the IPTV source)
Nvidia makes graphics card. Amazon makes stuff to sell their products. Nvidia has better benchmarks. That being said a 4k FS is fine for most, but shield is a better device hands down. Let budget dictate what u can afford.
Shield for sure I own 3 of them (2015,2017 & 2019)
I would recommend a Tivo 4K Stream before I would a Firestick
Either is good - I have both...Shield on my living room, sticks in bedrooms. If you have the extra cash, I'd go with the shield.
One costs around 200 bucks, the other one less than 40. What do you think?
idiots really thinking the firestick can match the shield.
if you have the budget, then grab the shield. other wise, the firestick is great especially if you have ethernet and usb ports connection added to it.
Get the shield and subscribe to shadow for 11 dollars a month. Now you a have a gaming pc that will easily meet all your streaming needs as well. Its also a plus that the ui isnt fighting you the whole time. I have used the firestick and the square odd looking fire stick and the fire os is not great. But once its set up does the job fine. If you cant afford it save up for awhile and get the shield. Either way get a cheap logitech wireless keyboard with trackpad to make the process alot smoother.
Get a device that fits your needs. If you buy a fire stick and it works for you then no need to look elsewhere.
The AI upscaling on Nvidia Shield is very good, but it only works for 30fps content. Having said that, even the non-AI upscaling ("enhanced") is still better than what I've seen on most other devices.
Firestick, no dice. Shield all the way.
On the Kodi forum, I remember a line for the fire stick 4k was that it had a better picture than Shield TV. This is ignoring the AI upscaling that the Shield TV does.
I think a safe bet would be the fire stick 4k has at least as good a picture as the Shield TV, and possibly better -- but you probably couldn't notice the difference in a blind test
let's be honest, the picture quality is identical. The ONLY difference is that the new shield pro can upscale certain 1080p content to 4k, BUT not content which is 60fps. So if you have a good itpv provider which gives you a lot of 60fps content, then the picture quality will basically be the same.
Now, is there a good chance that the shield will run the UI of whatever IPTV app you use better? and is life with an official android device versus a Firestick better (easier to side load, no 'companion apps", etc)? I would say yes to both
Having said that, the shield is always $200 more. So there ya go. Good luck choosing.
