Android Box For My Mom Strictly for IPTV?

by IroncladDiplomat

My mom cancelled her cable recently, I told her I would get her an Android Box and set up an IPTV service for her. I know everyone says NVIDIA Shield but I don't know if that would be unnecessary for my mom. Can the latest Amazon Firesticks handle IPTV well? Any other suggestions are welcome, thank you.

I've literally just bought a Formuler Z8 for my 70yo Dad. Set it to automatically open MyTVOnline2 on boot and a VPN with a kill switch.

Effectively indistinguishable to cable.

Tivo 4K Stream is better than the Firestick IMO. Has less bloatware

Both are great and both can be debloated. The firestick 4K is much easier to debloat than the TiVo 4k stream. Go to techdoctoruk.com for the tutorials. I have both and both are great streaming devices with either Tivimate or IM Player or both for IPTV players. I have both on both devices and they work flawlessly!

You have to understand what you really want Shield is great for Netflix, etc

If you really want a simple cable style box and works well with iptv, stick to something like Formuler z8 or Dreamlink T3 or Buzz TV

These are able to run the more stable and reliable Linux Stalker/Ministra platform, those been around iptv long enough to understand that.

Xtream code needed to be worked on to be more reliable, since it is some what new kid on the block. Stalker had been around for ages and Infomir had spent a lot of time making the codes better and better.

Other Android box, you would end up using STB Emul Pro which subpar to native Mag or Plus tv box (mag hybrid) Heck you can stream cinema with RD with z8, t3 or Buzz really well if you want to explain her movie library.

I have a Mi Box 3 with the PVR Live app configured so its channels automatically show up in the Live Channels App, i also have the DVR configured so it can record tv shows to an USB stick, and the Pluto tv app also adds its channels to the System Live Channels app. So with the Live Channels app you can have all the channels in one app.

It's the best setup i can have right now until I buy a Hisense Android TV, and finally put everything in one place.

Check out NINAN Android TV Box on Amazon. It's only fifty bucks, and is way more than than she would need.
