Any cheaper smartSTB alternatives?

My mag box just blew and my sub uses mac addresses instead of m3u's. i'm looking to explore my options and I have a samsung smart TV but the only app I can see that will work with mac addresses is smartSTB but it costs £23 (which seems a bit steep to me when compared with the £5 STB emu for android).

Is there another cheaper samsung app (like smartSTB) I could use for MAC addresses (my preference)? If there isn't, whats the best external device I could use? I heard mag box's aren't the best anymore so I dont think spending £60 on a new one is worth it but anyone have any thoughts?

If your sub uses MAC instead of m3u’s you should seriously consider getting a new provider.

Also to echo what others said - don’t use IPTV through your TV (or through a MAG box either).

Grab yourself an actual Android media box - you’ll be amazed at the difference

Yes Formuler z8 or Dreamlink t3 needed to be paid attention to as they are under rated over look

These box does an amazing job of handling linux stalker, linux ministra, m3u, even xtream code platform, due to the fact that Hisilicon player does an excellent job in term of colour, sharpness and works very well.

if you get one of the following devices then you can use CosmiDVR, it supports most MAC Portals.

There is one other app for MAC portals - look for Stalker player. I don't know of any others but app availability varies by tizen version so not everyone sees the same apps

If you want you can download Stb emulator for free from the App Store and you can add your MAC address and use the same URL portal from your Iptv provider

Just get a TiVo 4k stream for 49 us on amazon.....and use stbemu. App on it....or implayer which handles some stalker portals....or just spend a bit extra an det the dreamlink t3 or formuler z8....they handle stalker services fine ....p.s. if tourac based server works good for you..ignore the ppl.telling you to switch....the Mac based servers although prehistoric in today's world actually work damn good compared to most of the new servers and I test alot....they have fancy guis and can run multiple connections...bit when it comes to most ppv or big events....they fail in comparison. If it working for you don't break it lol

Amiko boxes are mac/portal based like mag boxes and hell of a lot cheaper and work a treat

For the record, you can use Tivimate with a MAC address on any android box.
