My IPTV Service runs smoothly on my data, but buffers when connected to Wi-Fi

by Scottie3Hottie

Is this an ISP Issue? I bought a Deco m5 mesh system and it has helped immensely. The overwhelming majority of channels I've watched are great however there's a handful of channels that are unwatchable. Other times, I'll notice it buffer a handful of times during a game or something.

I just watch iptv on my phone and TV at the same time. My phone data didn't buffer but the WIFI Did. I have 100 MBPS internet and it's not overloaded at all. I have my Smart TV plugged in to the Deco m5. I'm unable to connect straight to my router but I'm still getting around 65 mbps with this setup.

Your WiFi is blocking it , get a vpn

Test the connection using an Internacional server on speedtest.net, example change the test server for pilot from new York

Try with VPN to rest

So youve scanned your area and using a less popular channel? Bs

Because your network isnt saturated doesnt mean the frequency isnt. Thats the problem with wifi, youre sharing airspace with everyone around on the same frequency, period.

Wire it and see how it does before trying anything else

I had the same issue. I used Xiaomi Mi Box S with WiFi and it almost always buffers. When I wire it with ethernet adapter it works flawlessly.

Wi-Fi vs Ethernet: Interference and reliability

An Ethernet connection experiences less interference and is more reliable than Wi-Fi. Things like your home’s layout, your modem, your neighbours’ networks, and the number of connected devices will interfere with wireless connections. This can result in a number of issues, including:
  • Sometimes your devices will lose signal completely.
  • Higher latency. Interference can increase latency.

  • Slow speeds. Interference can also slow down speeds drastically.
