Looking for STBEmu Alternatives

by Afro_Wookie

Hello all,

I am looking for a STBEmu alternative or substitute. I understand that STBEmu is old but still being updated. I still like using it because I like the guide system and how to choose channels with the previews, guide.

What I don't like about is I can't find a way to filter out other languages to what I want.

I have tried OTT Navigator which was ok. It can filter out languages, but I get stuff omitted like 24/7 channels.

The service I am using is a MAC address service.

Can anyone suggest another app that uses MAC service.

I've had this exact question recently myself so went about tesing various apps over the last few weeks.

My testing below was based solely on stalker / MAC portal.

If you're on a standard android chinese tv box / tablet / phone then IM player comes out on top. It handles MAC / M3U / XC. The TV interface is nice but the handling of TV shows / movies is still being worked on. Catchup works very well on it too if it's supoorted by your provider. You can get a trial of this but a licence for it with all features costs about $21 / €18 which can be used on 2 devices and these can be swap around on different devices using a licence portal.

If you're on an Android TV device like Shield / Mi Box, then CosmiDVR is the way to go. It integrates with the live channels and looks great. TV shows / movies support is the best I've seen. Again you can get a trial icence for 5 days after installing it but a licence for this costs €21.99 and can be used on any device once you use the registration details it was originally licenced to.

I believe TiviMate will get MAC support in the future but doesn't have it as of yet.

The above is personal preference but there isn't a great deal of apps that work well with stalker / MAC that are easy to use.

Hope this helps

Your better off just buying a box like Formuler z8 that does mag/mac services instead of using an emulator.
