I hear Myiptvplayer, available for free in the Windows store, is very good.
Smarters also have just released a new version for Windows, which works way better than the previous one on Windows 7, but I don't know about 10

Have you tried exoplayer? Usually works well.
What is your issue with VLC? I have been using that. Load up my media stream and then click channel list and use search with no problem.
