Comcast blocking service

by pr0gtrance

Hey all! So last night I get home from work and went to watch tv only to find out my service with black screen. So after tests and troubleshooting I tried a free vpn and the service worked. So I tried using 2 of my phone apps and the same happened: under wifi they wouldn’t even load but under LTE or VPN on works perfectly. So I started to think maybe comcast noticed I been using a lot of my data on this specific thing and is definitely blocking me (which is weird cause so far I only seen people complaining that they were able to watch but with lots of buffer), or it could be due to the fact I am at 800gb data usage and the cap is 1tb (1.2tb during pandemic). My question is: anyone experiencing similar issues or have an idea? I will try using my service again without a vpn once the cycle restarts but doubt now it will work.

It was good while it lasted without vpn! Hahaha

I've got Comcast. No blocking and currently at 2.1TB of data for the month.

... blocking ...

Yeah, you already know this, but might as well get a decent VPN and just be done with it. Helpful for so many reasons.

I don't have comcast so I can't speak for that but I do notice how quickly people jump on the "they are blocking you" bandwagon. Sometimes stuff just breaks..I had that happen to me..I was having all kinds of issues and also thought I was being blocked..this was happening for several weeks and then one day everything started working right..as it turns out there was bad a switch somewhere on my ISP backbone and once they replaced it, everything started working right.

My point is don't assume they are intentionally blocking you..call them and tell them you are having issues (no specifics) and see what they say.

I'm using Comcast Xfinity and definitely I was blocked. Using the same iptv service last 3 years and everything is dead.

I opened a case with my iptv company and the representative told me that their clients from USA, Canada, France and Australia are having issues so it's time to get a VPN. Can you tell me u/pr0gtrance which VPN did you try successfully ?

Here is PA we don't have a data cap with xfinity. I believe a few other states don't have data cap with xfinity. I guess we here in PA are luckily . I must have used 3 terabytes last month. 😂😂😂😂😂

for me, in the USA, comcast, I got, using 75% warning, then using 90% warning... net is crap... last month, same thing, but, on the first, back to 'normal' ... thanks comcast, yer the best...

Comcast with 1TB cap. No blocking issues at all, but I always use less than 100GB/mth.

I have xfininty as well.....1.2TB data cap. I've gotten emails warning me of getting close to exceeding my limit quite a few times since this shelter in place has been going on

I've never had any of these issues or noticed any throttling going on. I do a lot of streaming as well YouTube TV, Philo and several underground iptv services.

Not sure if this makes a difference but I don't use ISP provided equipment. I use my own modem and router
