TVirl error 429 too many requests

by spicerackk

As the title says, I am constantly getting error 429 when trying to load an EPG from an m3u4u url.

I can get the playlist to work ok, the EPG keeps throwing the 429 error and I'm not too sure what it means/why it won't load the EPG.

Any help would be amazing!

Device is Chromecast with Google tv

What application/player are you using?

EDIT - TVirl... Seems like a poor rip-off to TiviMate. I suspect the app is "auto-downloading" groups and/or playlists changes constantly causing the flood issue.

TBH I'd ditch TVirl and just use Tivimate. Widely acknowledged as the best IPTV app and as a user myself I can't see a reason to use anything else.

i know this is a bit of a necropost, but i had the same issue on my nvidia shield TV -- the only solution i found was making a cron job on my home server that downloads a copy of the epg+m3u every week or so to a shared folder, which i then link using the mount network storage function of the shield.

i realize that not everyone's situation is identical though so ymmv.

Someone mentioned on a different sub, they also received too many requests after using M3u4u but went back to normal after a few days. I'm weary about using that service myself, I don't trust my login credentials to exist on their site. They offer a great service but, just never know what they are doing with the login info.
