I was watching a youtube video and was told that you could pause live tv with a formuler z8 box and take a phone call or make a sandwich.
Is this true?
I have an nvidia shield with tivimate and a firestick 4k, and I am not able to do this. If it can be done with a formuler z8, this will convince me to purchase one. How bout the Z7? Can it pause live iptv for a few minutes?

Both the Z7+ and Z8 can record and pause live TV.
The Z7+ is still supported but only receiving bug fixes.
The Z8 is the top model when you factor the Z Alpha and Z+ Neo. These models include MOL2 which has picture in picture and can record one stream and watch another provided you have multiple connections for that service.
All of these models require the use of USB or hard drive to record, and you must turn on the timeshift feature to pause and rewind live TV. Alternatively you can do this with a NAS setup, but this can only be done on MOL2 devices
You have to attach a USB hard drive and format it for use on the Z8, so it is dedicated once you format...but then you can pause at will, record, or if you have multiple connections, set one to record while you watch another though I haven't verified that as I only have one connection.
