Magic $25 monthly fee

by offroad007

It seems that monthly cost is always somewhere south of (less than) $25 US. Am finding it funny that many try to push it lower. Not counting internet connectivity cost this is what you might spend to compare to IPTV services.

  1. numerous free old shows on Pluto etc.
  2. Netflix less than $10.
  3. Hulu (no live, no DVR) $5
  4. Redbox $5 random
  5. LOCAST $5
  6. local public library free dvd
  7. over the air antenna broadcast free
  8. watch sports teams at the local pub/bar might cost for a beverage

Point is to just compare it all and to not get too frustrated with poor random IPTV given good alternatives.

The unique thing IPTV offers over most of those services is live TV. The type that isn't free, like sports. I don't consider anything on your list an alternative to IPTV (guessing you're not a sports fan - 8) is not a good solution if you are).

Half the time I don’t even have a problem with IPTV, but rather ISPs trying to make it look like there’s a problem.

I connect directly to my IPTV service and it’s slow, buffers, stutters, and just fails to play. But if I turn on my VPN (which I’ve now set as default on my media server which controls my TVs and plays my IPTV channels) it runs pretty much perfect all the time for $8 a month.

I love watching the cable companies flounder, trying to charge three figures for a basic cable bill after preventing direct cable tuning, forcing boxes/cards to be installed to tune, charging extra for things that are necessary, you get the idea, now that the black market has not only caught up to them, but provided BETTER (and humorously, sometimes more reliable) services for a fraction of the cost.

They deserve the money they’re bleeding at this point, and now with various fios and other alternatives for Internet, their time as a wannabe monopoly is limited 🤷‍♀️

We mainly do it to watch International tv

Lots of streaming services are not offered in my country, plus having a foreign partner means we like to watch non domestic tv from time to time.

Really its a no brainer for us, and our service has been rock solid for nearly 2 years

True but worth noting that iptv gives you some channels that cost over 20/month each, from top sports channels to adult and movies ones.
