What's the best VPN app for low power devices like firestick 4K?

by GetSecure

I've been having some buffering using PIA, Tivimate and 50fps HD streams.

As a test I switched my VPN to run on my high powered pfsense router sending everything from my firestick IP via PIA and stopped the VPN app on the firestick so it can focus all its resources on Tivimate and the stream only. This fixed the issue, but means I have to go into the router settings and disable this when I want to use Amazon/Netflix etc, so it's not ideal.

What I want is the lowest resource VPN I can run on my firestick that I can set per app settings on, so it's only activated with Tivimate? I don't care about encryption, I'd be happy with PPTP, I just need to bypass ISP IP blocks in the lowest resource intensive way. Would WireGuard help?

IPVanish hands down. tested and proven

Surfshark has all the settings you are asking for. Whether it would help or not is another question.

IPVanish does the job nicely and very easily

Nord vpn works good on mine. Bought the yearly sub for £60, sold a few connections to friends for £10 for the yea because I’m a nice guy.

I'm using smartdnsproxy on router and connect it to firestick. Awesome speed.

I can tell you I got a great deal on HideMyAss VPN, like 3 years for 50 bucks or something. Works great for P2P. But they do not have an app for the fire stick!

I ended up buying an account from a guy on NordVPN, works great on my fire stick and my 4k, but I only use my IPTV when there is UFC.

For the past 4 years, I've been using NordVPN. I've never had any issues.

One of the things I might try is setting up a PPTP server on a VPS and then use the openvpn client to connect to it. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will as that's basically no encryption, just sending data via another IP.

Actually I should look into whether any of the iptv apps allow you to configure a socks proxy, that'd be ideal.

Try express VPN installed on a router.... I haven't had any issues and also it will put any device u connect to tht router behind the VPN and it doesn't take away from other connections

IPVanish works great on my firestick 4k

Fire Stick 4k is not low enough power to do encryption for 10-20 Mbps streams, any vpn should work fine
