So I'm looking to cut the cord and want to switch to iptv, but I'm having a hard time finding answers.
Currently I have several shows myself and the wife watch, but a few of them air at the same time so I'll probably have to record 2-3 shows simultaneously. I currently have a Raspberry pi 4 that I was going to use but I Kodi runs very slowly and its too complicated for her to navigate. Than I looked into Plex as my TV has the client built-in but when searching for info, I found out the Shield Pro can record using Xteve with an external HD. But I can't find an answer if I can record multiple shows at the same time, so I was debating getting two Firesticks to use.
Would I also need two iptv subscriptions? Will one Shield do what I want?
Any help is appreciated!
I think you need to slow down..I don't think you are really understanding what you are getting into. Most IPTV providers found here are illegitimate so you can't expect the same level of features and reliability. Most don't offer recording at all so it will be up to your to figure out how to record. You will need a service with multiple connections if you want to record multiple shows at the same time. You need to focus more on software than the device. Firestick is not a great device for recording because you can't attach storage to it easily. The shield is the best device since it is the most powerful, runs android tv and has USB ports where you can attach storage, it also has ethernet for a more reliable connection.
If recording is your primary need, I think you will find your options very limited. Your best bet is the shield running tivimate as your software player (it has limited recording capability, no season passes, just manual recording of individual shows).
