XCIPTV use a local downloaded m3u file

by billyb99

I'm trying to use XCIPTV with a locally downloaded m3u file that I have in the Downloads directory. I try to enter this file path in the URL box but it does not work.

anyone know how to do it ? Maybe you need to grant permission manually to allow access to the local file.

I tried using the file path or the URI such as file://blah/blah/download.m3u

also tried the plain filepath: /sdcard/..../foo.m3u

EDIT: I can get this to work on other android apps like Tivo and IPTV but would like to try out XCIPTV.

why not upload it to m3u4u.com and then use the resulting url, its a free service.

I believe file needs to be hosted. Atleast that is how my providers are.
