I am in the market for a new iptv service. I am new to this and hence need some help. I am getting a Mag 420w1 by the vendor for $90 plus monthly fee. But reading thru this forum I understand that Fire Stick 4K is a good choice. So now I am confused whether I should get the box or the FS which is more versatile. I have a Roku TV so as of now can run Netflix etc and primary use will be iptv.
Formuler Z8 or wait on Formuler GTV. Get what you pay for.

Firesticks work great. No need to get a mag box. The only limitation I find is minimal storage. With all the Amazon crap they stick in there, there isn't very much space for apps. I use an A95X Max android box (80 bucks); but I also have a shield and 3 Firesticks. Another great deal are used Nvidea Shields on eBay.
Magboxes or even Formuler z8 boxes are designed do a great job with mac/stb type services that have foreign content. Germany, Italy, India, Pakistan etc would all have a working guide, and languages such as India and Pakistan would have catchup/rewind. You'd be hard pressed to find a m3u foreign service with guide and catchup. If your just planning on watching mostly English than a m3u/smarters type service for Firestick would be a better choice.
I swear by firesticks for my customers. Had people with Mag boxes who break it and because its locked to that MAC Address, I cant move them to a different device.
On the firestick I give my customers login details so if they do anything wrong, its easily transferable.
I’d go for the fs4k too or nvidia shield

My provider does a MAC authentication, is there a good app on fire stick other than stb emulator?
Is it possible to bypass an ip lock that some portals have in place? For example, if you try to log in to the portal using the same mac but from a different isp..
You're about 2 years behind the curve for Mag boxes. You can get a FS4K for £25/$25 at the moment and once you've installed TiviMate or iMPlayer on it will make the Mag box looks ancient in comparison.
