What is the best player?

by furio01

I apologize in advance for the long post. I had been using the smart IPTV app on my Samsung TV for the past 6 months or so and I really liked it. Navigating the channels and folders was very easy and it was fairly stable. Then one day it suddenly wouldn't work anymore. I read online something about Samsung removing the app from the store and maybe that's why but I'm not sure. So I tried to use VLC player on my Android box and I didn't like it at all. I found it hard to use and when I loaded my playlist it just put all the channels into one big long list. I'm not tech savvy so not sure if there are ways to configure it but I couldn't find anything online either. I read a lot about tivimate app having problems freezing after the recent update so I didn't bother trying that one. I then tried perfect player and it worked for a few hours. Then after trying it again after a bit the app just doesn't load anything and freezes. I was thinking about trying Kodi next but thought I would check here and get some opinions. I'd rather use an app I can download to my tv so I don't need to use an external device but I guess anything stable and easy to sort channels would be ideal. Thanks a lot

Tivimate hands down. No issues, always update and works like a champ. 75% is provider issue, 10% ISP issue, 9% user/device issue, and 1% maybe tivimate.

Add- All my statistics are made up.

Im I crazy or is the video quality on Siptv directly in a samsung TV better than Tivimate ( or any other app) on an android box (4k firestick) ??

For the TV, you are correct, ssiptv.eu is hands down the simplest, non-bloated, it just-works experience in my opinion. Sure the EPG might suck, but if you don't need perfection for 2,000 channels and can get used to the layout, it's a charm. Everything else to me seems bloated, overweight, buggy, or similar.

Have you tried manually sideloading the app again? https://siptv.app/howto/sammy/ -- You don't need to be very tech savvy, just be able to find your TV model, follow the howto over a cup of coffee, and manage a USB stick. (Disclaimer, I haven't had to do this yet as mine still works from stock, but I assume the time will come. But it should be no different than any other android/tizen sideload which tends to be painless once you get the hang of it).

I use VLC exclusively on my laptop, it's barebones but it just works. I get my EPG from CLI anyway, so not required in this use case.

As for Kodi, I know tons of people who swear by it. I hate it. I find it clunky, video playback problems, and buffering issues where neither ssiptv nor VLC experiences the same.

Tivimate. Iv tried other players or players other IPTV provider supply, I always find my way back to tivimate. Been using it so long all other players just don't feel right 🤷‍♂️

Sorry for the delayed response dudes been busy with work and haven't had much time for tv. Just downloaded and setup tivimate and so far I'm really impressed with how it looks. Very similar to an actual cable tv provider interface. I'm just learning how to use this thing and I'm wondering if it's worth it for me to upgrade to the premium. If I'm only using it on one device and not really interested in things like pip and such, is it worth it? What other benefits does it offer that would be useful for me? Thanks
