I got an IPTV service for my parents, and they're extremely old school with everything. They need to be able to change the channels using a number pad on the remote. Is there any I can buy out there that have the number pad, and be able to use Tivimate with?
It's been an absolute nightmare just getting them to understand how to use a firestick.
If they've now got used to the firestick you could just get a usb remote for it that has numbers?
Air mouse works great.
My 78 year old parents have no issues using the Z8 I setup for them. Numbered remote and excellent EPG with Mytv2 app.
Get any current formuler device.. it is perfect for people who just wanted to work like TV. It can also run all the latest apps
If you use TiviMate app you can search for the channel with the microphone by opening up the search section and then hit the microphone and search for the channel you’re looking for and the channel will pop up... also I would recommend adding the wolf launcher cause it will make it so much easier for them to navigate the Firestick....
raspberry pi and android will let you use the tv remote via cec hdmi
keep in mind that the channel numbers are NOT going to line up with the "channel" number of the station. I.E. Fox 5 may not be 5 on the keypad. It will be its number on the guide (could be any number based on the sort order of the guide in use).
tivo stream 4k has number keys, but as someone else already mentioned, the numbers won't align with the numbers they are used to. If they have 40 channels in favorites, it will be channel 1- 40. You can't reassign the numbers in tivimate.
Just get a universal remote...I highly recommend the sofabaton u1 remote....it's excellent and you can basically control everything with it
