Looking for some diection on a tv box.

by ratherun1que

I dont know much about these things other than the two front runners are usually Roku and Amazon's firestick. I was gifted a roku about 5 years ago or so and rarely use it. Another person where I live has a firestick. The immediate differences I can tell is that while the firestick comes pre-bloated it allows to download from unknown sources where as it seems the roku doesnt. This is where most of my use will be based.

Im looking at trying an underground streaming cable service and was wondering if there are any other more preffered little known tv boxes that may be better than the firestick that I could purchase and a little brief breakdown of pros and cons for either.

Thanks!

Nvidia shield. Nothing else.

Ask a strong believer of Fire Sticks for the money 4K now on sale for less than $30. Just tested a Dynalink which is comparable. Used Downloader & FileLinked to install apps on both

I've started f with a firestick and cheap Chinese boxes. I l e srnedvtgat your better offgetting a box that gets regular use updates.uf money us not of concern getbtge best Nvidia shield pro. Cost about US$200. Keep in mind the 2015 shield just recently got an update last week. If you wantbto consider a mi box it lower in cost and does 5k as well.

A h ain you want to keep getting updates

I have 2 nvidia shield pro, they are the front runners but they are expensive, but can play anything and have continued updates since the first one in 2015.

If I wanted something cheaper I would look at the new chromecast with google tv, as it still has android tv, and a remote and can install Tivimate

and make sure you find a good provider from recommendations of others, makes a big difference to your experience

I have a firestick and a formular z8 , the formular z8 out performs the firestick when it comes to running IPTV services definitely less buffering.

So for context someone recommended the H96 max X3 and the T95Q boxes.... 🤷🏻‍♂️

if you want playstore (easier for downloading) go with a 2020 chromecast or possibly the Dynalink TV box. I prefer the cleaner UI and remote on the Dynalink and its also cheaper. 4K firestick is prob best bang for the buck and its only 30 bucks right now, but you will need to use downloader for most of what you are looking to do. New UI is coming soon and it looks to be better then what is currently going on.

Amazon constantly updated their FireSticks even their 1st Generation

First and foremost figure out what your needs are. Do you need 4k, do you plan to game on the device, do you want a cable like experience or just something that gets the job done? At the minimum I'd suggest a 4k firestick or new google sticks. With these you will need to purchase Tivimate (another 25-30 for the lifetime account with 5 devices) or use STB Emu if you wish to connect to a mac based server. Next up I'd recommend the Z8 Pro. These come loaded with the excellent MyTV2 app which can connect to any type of server and provides a cable-like guide and excellent picture. I've tested and sold everything from firesticks, T95's, Q7's, Buzz boxes, mag boxes, Shields and now Formuler and the Z8 Pro is everything you need for iptv and more. If you want to game you can try the GTV or the Shield. Both connect to the playstore for apps, both support bluetooth controllers however again the GTV gets the edge in that it already has the MyTV2 app whereas the shield needs to have Tivimate purchased on top of it's already heavy price.

As far as service is concerned they are a dime a dozen and cheap isn't necessarily the goal if you want quality. Stay away from the ones you see splashed all over facebook and other apps as they are far more likely to get shutdown. Take a few trials just to test the channel list. Once you find something you like take a month and see how consistent it is, how responsive the seller is and get a feel for the level of service they actually offer. Best of luck.
