Has anyone had any experience with both? Take pricing out of it, is MOL2 essentially the same? Overall quickness of the systems? I'm need to upgrade my box and I'm looking at these two. I like that gtv has android tv OS but are there issues going this route compared to the z8 mobile OS. Thoughts?
I've had experience with both and I am getting rid of my Z8. I find while the Z8 is still a very good box, the GTV did feel a bit snappier using MOL2 and even other apps. The Bluetooth remote is a nice touch too!
Didn't know they had brought out a new model. I like the look of it. I've got a Z7+.
I'm about to upgrade too. Think I'll get the GTV.
Didn't know about the GTV. Does it let me remove certain channel categories?
I remember a few years ago I tired the formuler and liked it a lot but because it didn't let me remove/hide categories I returned it and went with Buzz TV.

I had the same question. I've always had fire stick 4k. Only reason I'm looking at the gtv is the 4k and Dolby. Wasn't sure if that's worth it. Or just get the z8 pro .Please help seems like everyone is split between the 2 lol
I have both (and sell both). I do feel the GTV is a bit snappier and definitely faster setup. The bluetooth remote is nice and Prime runs 4k flawlessly, same with Netflix. I've also gamed on it some with the bluetooth controller with Real Racing 3. All in all it's a solid choice but if you're only using it for IPTV then the Pro is all you need.
Can I ask if an IPTV box like the Z8 provides a more stable experience than an m3u link on, say, a Android TV Smart TV? Or are they only for emulating a "real" tv box?
More stable too. The newer boxes with their dedicated programs like MOL2 seem to be much more stable than other options. I.e. using stemu on firestick.
Im looking to buy new box as well. It's going to be my first. I am thinking to go for z8 but I am confused with other brands as well.not sure what to go for.
z8 / z8 pro any day way better colour depth, if you have a high quality tv and big
I personally passed on the GTV. The lack of Netflix certification, the outdated processor, and the high price point kills it for me. I was so damned excited for this box too. MOL2 is amazing, but not worth $170. I’ll stick with the Shield and TiviMate doing AI upscaling on my IPTV streams, and maybe hit up the GTV2 next year.
