Plex

Would like to run my own IPTV playlist through my Nvidia shield being used as a media server. Unfortunately all the IPTV plugins require access to a PC which I don't have. Is there another way around the need for a PC? I'm usingy shield as the server. I have the IPTV plugin installed and can see it, but imputing my credentials just saves and doesn't seem to populate any channels or anything. Can somebody help me.

You can't do it without a PC. Plex does not directly support m3u lists. All current methods use a third party app to emulate a TV tuner called hdhomerun which Plex does support. The most popular hdhomerun simulator is called xTeVe and it needs to run on a computer since there is no Android version.

xTeVe has a webui that allows you to load m3u lists along with epg lists, it also allows you to filter and group channels as you like. It will then advertise itself on your LAN as a hdhomerun device. Plex will "see" xTeVe as a hdhomrun TV tuner and add it to the Live TV & DRV.

I have a xteve setup on a centos server using m3u and do a setup in plex to load the channels ...work ok

Lotta hate in here. M3u files are pretty damn simple. Not advanced. It sucks that plex stopped supporting that plug in about a year ago, bou can run xteve on lots of shit. I only know how on a pc and you need to have some ports open if you run a remote server so xteve isn't worth it for me. I don't want to leave my network exposed. Better off just switching apps when you need live tv.

I run implayer on my shield tv. I have a sub that has all the movies and catch up as well as a fantastic series selection. All play within one app and includes live tv. Stop looking for the arc and change your iptv sub.

I can download movies, catchup and recordings to my nas drive and share via plex.

My setup was not expensive 1 shield and a couple of mecool boxes in the house. Works great.

Good luck finding your iptv/plex heaven 👍

You need either xteve or Telly running for it to work.

U need the playlist in m3u format

Not sure if you can do it on shield but if you can get xteve installed somewhere that will let you convert IPTV to a format plex can use

Does anyone know any Plex IPTV "add-ons" that have a website that I can just configure using my phone? It's baffling that in this day and age, we still need to bust out ol' dusty to do the most simple sh*t

There are a bunch of iptv apps in the app store that you can load m3u playlists on. I use one with a list of streams on it. I'm sure talking of m3u list sources and particular streams is a touchy subject here.

I suppose you could install Xteve on your shield since Android is Linux.
