Box recommendation

by Slapsalmon1

I'm looking to replace an old android box which was originally used for kodi and now iptv. I was looking at formuler boxes due to the ease of use of the mytvonline app as it needs to be straight forward for other people in the house. The specs of the box don't look particularly good for the money and I've since seen implayer and tivimate which give a similar GUI. Id like a decent remote like the formuler boxes, but no problem buying a seperate one.

I'm reasonably competent technology wise and have no problems flashing a Rom if that's going to give me a better experience. Budget wise I'm looking probably up to £150 but it's flexible within reason. I'll stick a list below of a few boxes that have caught my eye. If anyone could give me a heads up if I'm missing anything or any reason I should go with one over the other I'd be very grateful.

Thanks in advance

Beelink gt king/pro (I've read of issues with tivimate on these not sure if custom rom would fix that. Not fussed with the extra audio certifications on the pro so possibly the standard would be the best option)

I prefer my nvidia shield to any other device I've tried. I really wish a tv manufacturer would just put a good CPU in a TV already that can run android without sever stuttering.

You should really check out a MECOOL KM3. You will not be disappointed and It comes with the most bang for the buck. This is coming from an Nvidia Shield and Formuler Z8 owner.

Chromecast with Google TV. I only use my Firestick for the DVR now since I got that. Better performance. And it's only $50.

I use Android t95 TV box with h616 runs like a dream and inexpensive

Has to be a Shield TV unless you want the extra storage of a Pro. It would last you a lifetime without the need of ungrading to another device again.

The Firestick would be the cheapest route and will run iptv with no issues.

Get a shield if you plan on gaming at some point which is why the specs are higher.

Get the Formuler z8 for the simplicity. Also mac/mol2 would be the best option if you need iptv for foreign content. Foreign Guide, catchup, Vod etc. It drives me insane when people run the stbemu app on these android boxes and complain about it. Proper box for the proper service!

If you have a old PC or laptop install android on it. Bigger memory, better graphics than most cheap android boxes.

" and I've since seen implayer and tivimate which give a similar GUI "

absolutely not. MOL2 nothing like tivimate or the crapy copy of it.

its tivimate vs mol2,or formuler GTV vs nvidia pro.

whatever you pick, it will be the best you ever seen/use.

eachone has its own features/preference.

Formuler gtv hands down the shield killer

Edit: lol butt hurt fan boys you know it's TRUE shield doesnt upscale iptv good so what can the shield do that formuler cant?

I use tivimate on a 4K Firestick, works great with my provider.
