Help with Solution using iOS

by MGCanada

My goal is to avoid having another remote and another UI. Ideally I want to manage my m3u on my phone (Plenty of apps that work great to watch on the phone) but cast to my TV.

I have a Chromecast but mpegts is spotty and cuts off or freezes. My Roku has mirroring but that's useless as it it's mirroring not casting.

What device will allow me to manage what I play from my phone but watch it on my TV without having to navigate to a UI on my TV with a secondary remote?

Can i "cast" to a fire stick or some other device? Or will I need to get an android box and use an iOS remote for that box? Are there any with native iOS apps to keep it simple

Maybe an apple TV? Not familiar but if i can send to Apple TV without having it hijack my phone while watching (like Airplay does and Chromecast doesn't) maybe that will work?

thanks

Im using iProTv with in my iPhone and Apple tv (an app for each one with 1 purchase for both) so i don’t need to cast, but you can use the iphone app to cast to your tv by using the option to open any channel or VOD in vlc app and from there you can cast and manage the video playback so you don’t need to buy an Atv ;)

I discovered IPTVX, I like it, because it is a lot like Netflix in design and feel.

I do not like that I have a paid version and can only have a single playlist, but hey. I do not watch on my mobile (Android), but I do watch on my TV (Apple TV box), so I got the app for the Apple TV.

Not sure if it answers your question, but have a look at the free version.

iPhone GSE app cast to Chromecast. No issues. But I prefer Fire TV native app rather than casting
