Bypass Hotel WIFI

by hhave

Hello. I’m staying in a hotel and when I connect to the WiFi with my laptop/ phone a window pops up and I’m asked for my name, DOB & room number. I have a IPTV box but when I connect to the WiFi, that window doesn’t pop up. So how can I connect to the WiFi with the IPTV. There is NO Ethernet connection.

Thanks

When I use my Apple TV I just call the WiFi tech support and they can add my MAC address manually to the WiFi. Works every time.

if it relies on the popup to actually get the connection, try opening chrome or web browser on box and see if it redirects you to the connection page to enter the info

I travel a lot for work and stay in lots of hotels.

My preferred method is to carry a hdmi cable and plug my laptop into the hotel TV and use it as an extra screen. I then watch my iptv on my laptop on the hotel TV.

If the hotel wifi has one of those windows logon pop ups you mentioned it often means they have some fancy website blocking as well. I often have to use a vpn in hotels to watch iptv and access torrent sites etc.

You have to get a travel router. It connects to the hotel wifi and presents only one device to it. You connect your laptop and other devices to it, then log into the captive portal using your laptop. That should then allow all devices connected to the travel router to connect.

Go to your browser on the iptv box and it should do the magic....connect you Wi-Fi through settings and later open the browser app on your box.

I can't really troubleshoot this with you but try to have the iptv box connect to a WiFi hotspot originating from your phone or laptop if possible. Might work

I worked in a hotel and ran into this with people traveling with Xbox’s etc. Call the front desk and ask them to connect you to their internet provider. They’ll get it hooked up to the device
