Recording new episodes

by fjdkslx

Hi, I've recently gotten into IPTV services and am currently trying to figure out the best setup for my parents to replace their current satellite TV. I'm currently using Tivimate and can record episodes no problem.

However, I would like to switch to an app capable of having recurring recordings. For example, select a TV show and have it record only new episodes. This way we wouldn't have to manually put recordings every day.

Are there any apps or services capable of doing this? Thanks

if recorded shows are a big deal, why not just use vod like plexshare? Saves the trouble of doing the work no

What you're asking to do isn't trivial. Can't expect the exact same experience within the IPTV world as you had with the cable world. Sorry!

If they are used to SKY they are likely to get frustrated with IPTV. Worth letting them now about the buffering issues etc. Make sure you get a provider with a good catchup option, that tends to be more reliable than recording. Good luck!

Do this for my elderly mot in law. Between buffering, network down, slow internet, and all possible shortcommings of iptv I find I spend a lot of time giving explanations for crap she doesn't understand. There's a lot more happening than saving money.

If their EPG goes past 1 day I recommend Emby. There is a charge for it (not open source like Jellyfin) but it will give you the most 'cable' like experience.

Depending on how you're using it, you might want to look into Jellyfin.
