Checking with the iptv I’m subbing to, it seems whenever I watch North American sports it plays so smooth but horrible picture quality and whenever I instantly watch that same sports on an European sports channel it looks stuttery but has a better picture quality. Why is that?
Us sports are broadcast at 60fps, UK at 25fps but mostly upscaled with motion interpolation (sky mostly) by sports are taken direct from the bt app.
Most of the Sky feeds come from their NowTV apps 1080p 25fps..... NowTV have recently introduced 50fps for extra cost on certain sports channels, so who knows maybe this will be passed down the chain to us end users... would be great
Most of the major sports channels in the USA like ESPN and Fox Sports broadcast in 720p/60.
Tweak your TVs picture settings. Turn on clear motion/intelligent frame creation and it makes the picture more smoother and bearable to watch
It's the difference between broadcast standards.
NTSC in the US is 30/60fps while the UK standard is PAL at 25/50fps.
