Device

I was looking into purchasing a better device for iptv use. I currently use the Amazon 4K stick and have lots of buffer issues even on 120 mbps I tried an Ethernet adapter and even a vpn and still lots of buffering. I was looking into the nvidia shield or the pro just not sure if paying more for the pro is worth it. (Also open to any suggestions).

You won’t regret purchasing the nvidia

If you're wired and still getting buffering on TS and HLS 1080p30 or 720p60 streams, then it's probably your ISP.

The Firestick is more than capable, I don't see any device making a difference.

What software app are you using?

I suspect some ISP's are throttling video streams. It all started when they started selling the same service lol! But yea like everyone here said get an Nvidia Shield Pro

If you have a 4k with an ethernet adapter, I see no reason why it would be the cause of buffering. I bet it has to do with your source for your service. That is why you'll see people complaining about buffering on your provider while others say it is flawless. Everyone's situation is different, geography comes in to play, etc.

I bought a Shield and have a few 4k sticks. With certain services I'll see buffering on both. Certain services I won't see buffering at all on both.

So don't be surprised if you get a new device and still see buffering.

Don’t forget to restart your Device as well as your router. Clear the cache in the app that’s having the buffering issues and then unplug your device for 10 minutes. Then unplug your router for 10 minutes. Reconnect the router and after it’s transmitting Wi-Fi again, turn on and reconnect your android device.

if money is not an issue, shield is definitely worth the price, but might not be the solution for your problem. Try your services on different devices and even use wifi and data, try other services. You have to narrow down what the issue is. If it is a provider issue, getting a shield won't help

with the information you've provided the first thing to try is to change your TV stick's DNS to 1.1.1.1

I've been using a 4K firestick connected by ethernet cable for two years with a IPTV service and I get no buffering whatsoever.... I also got rid of all the Amazon bloatware on my 4K stick which made all the difference in the world.. I also expanded the storage on my 4K Firestick to help with the storage problem that the firestick has...

Have a look at the Formuler Z8, the Mytvonline2 app is superb for IPTV, well worth the money and cheaper than the Shield

You might test your latency through your isp, you can do this by doing a traceroute. Find how to do a traceroute from the command line on your OS. The basic use will tell you how long it takes to each Hop, how many hops it’s taking and some will even give you Jitter into. There are some online tests from the net to your pc as well. You can search for DNSSTUFF for some free easy online testing helping you find out what’s going on. Movies are usually streamed via a protocol called UDP, which can come from alll sorts of directions and out of order, if they don’t arrive in order or don’t show up, they are dropped frames. Buffering won’t fix this. Your data might be misrouted and taking an exceptional number of hops (routers) buffering is supposed to help with this, but often if it’s to many hops or you have excessive jitter, buffering willl fai, especially with live feeds.

I don’t think getting a shield will fix your buff issues from a 4K firestick, however, the comment made about a shield is correct. Nothing beats a Shield

Redbaron1981

I got 3 android boxes before buying nvidia...chucked them all in the garbage after getting the shield...there is only one. Saying that its your provider. Even my shitty boxes were running smooth with good IPTV.

Don't get the tube firetv4k is just as good. Don't know about pro but tube is not worth the extra money

Ajaxx1986

I bet it's either your ISP or IPTV service provider, I know a few people running Firestick 4Ks with ethernet adapters without issue.

Also, worth nothing the Amazon branded ethernet adapter is 10/100 which means it will only negotiate up to 100mbps. 100mbps is plenty fast for streaming virtually anything.

Getting a different device won’t solve your issues. Here’s what you do to solve the problem, Play the service on your phone using DATA only (No WiFi). You can use an App like IPTV Smarters for this. Before playing your service on your phone, run a quick speed-test using DATA ONLY to make sure there are no speed issues. 20mbps or more should be fine. Then play the service on your phone. If you no longer experience buffering, it’s your ISP. If it still buffers, it’s your IPTV service provider. If you determine it’s the ISP, it sounds like the line coming into your house from the pole is the problem. Call your ISP and they’ll send someone to fix. If you determine it’s your IPTV provider, try another service.

Have you done the correct fs settings?

KegTapper74

I run 4 firesticks with TiviMate with no issues. I make sure I have at least 2 Gb of storage on each stick. Deregister and reregister frees up a bunch of storage and you dont lose your apps and settings

RPL79

I have a fire stick with IPTV and only an 8mb connection. Yea 8mb. Doesn’t buffer

It’s not your fire stick

+1 for the Nvidia Shield, but I would also add to try the VPN server closest to your physical location. Helped for me.

littleyork

Shield of you want to do some gaming and Plex. Buzz box If it’s just streaming. Also a dream links are good.

mistman23

It could be the VPN

tedbullpit007

if on a budget and only want it for iptv then get a T95 MAX+ box

4gb ram + 32gb rom and quad core and it plays every video file and they are $40us free shipping off ali express or amazon

I bought a few of them for the each room of my place.

your buffering is most likely the service you are using and or your isp throttling the connection so look at changing your modem-router DNS to cloudflare or open dns then save and reboot modem and then try watch iptv and hopefully the buffering goes away.

to change DNS is easy look here --> https://www.theverge.com/2018/4/3/17191538/how-to-change-dns-routers-windows-mac-ios?fbclid=IwAR1NPQ2CwlxgwcdVhNW89B3gZZi-TFv_yKBWMulJQKcq1gY3Z1Jt0LblIu4
