Too good to be true?

by st_thomas66

I don't know that much about iptv, but recently I was at a local gas station and the they had a little (what looked like) android tv box for sale, so I asked about it and he said it's packaged with an iptv service for $20/month and that includes all the big streaming platforms like Netflix, Crave, and Prime. He claimed that I don't even need accounts for those services and the $20/mo gets me access to all their content. This sounded too good to be true...is it? Thanks

Don't buy it... It is too good to be true...

You would be FAR better off to get a quality box, which that likely isn't, and find your own providers. You'll save money in the end, and have way more freedom as far as not being locked into a single source for content. I also get out for roughly $7 a month. IPTV + RD has been a tried and tested method for me. I dabble with plex shares, but honestly RD works better for me.You'll want a good frontend for your IPTV, I'd recommend tivimate or implayer for a tv box, ott navigator for touchscreen.

I would never buy an iptv loaded box from a gas station, lol. Especially one over which you don't have any control.

Kind of lol

Uhhh well as far as iptv is concerned you are streaming media and some services will have VOD that will be categorized according to what streaming service they are commonly found on. Biggest issue is how long will that service be up before it gets sued and forced to close, were you secure and anonymous with billing and also your internet connection on the box by use of vpns/proxies/ect ? Can iptv replace your life TV cable offers absolutely?

I can't believe people think this is too good to be true, it's easy as hell to make money reselling IPTV and VOD if you get $20 a MONTH from someone. Your margin could be like 50%

Usually the box itself runs anywhere from $40 (low spec) to $300 (nvidia shield). I’m sure $20 units exist as well. You can get basic apps for free that don’t require an account... usually people selling android tv boxes want to make $20-$50 bucks for their time (programming a box) and investment (stocking a variety of boxes). So too good to be true, no. But that saying... you get what you pay for... applies here. =)

Aim for something in the middle if it’s your first time purchasing a box, you can get a decent one for $60-$120 plus a investment of your time (research).

It says 3 comments but I can only see two. Anyway, what I really wanted to know is, can iptv really get you Netflix, prime etc content without having separate accounts for them?

Actually, I have seen IPTV providers that present under a category, Netflix1, Netflix2, and so on. Only checked them briefly, while browsing and only half were showing something. There was a movie, in a foreign language, probably ripped “live” from a Netflix account. No, guide, no choosing, no nothing. If you’re can call that Netflix then they have it. But I very much doubt you can actually pick something and watch. How? Anther poster mentioned movies and Series and I can see that as a substitute. But again, no Netflix per se.

I use the iWebTV Pro App on my AppleTV; cast from the App on my iPhone/iPad and I can find many/every sporting event, TV series and movie available. Yes, I paid to up the App to ‘Pro’(removes a banner). Other than that, I have Amazon Prime & a shared Netflix account. Add the NHL66 website that I cast via AppleTV and I’m goof to go.

Gas , snacks, & drinks. Don’t divert from those three.
