ROUTER BLOCKING IPTV STREAM

by scampmarley

I am with origin broadband and have a ASUS N16 router I have had many issues with the router not playing any streams. If I connect my phone hotspot to my 4K Firestick my IPTV plays fine. Any help on the router settings would be much appreciated

Doudt it is the router, more likely culprit is uour ISP, but like the man already said, VPN, should sort you out. Unless that is, you been fiddling with the router settings.

your isp is blocking it ...

log into your modem and go to DNS and change it to cloudflare ... save and reboot modem.

if you use your isp dns they can block anything .. torrent sites and iptv and so on.

I had this same problem. I ssh'ed into my router, opened skynet and watched the blocked connections in real time. I then white listed the IPs that were going back and forth.

It worked after I did that.

Did you ever work out what the issue was? I have a friend with the ASUS DSL-N16 on origin internet and IPTV does not work, wired or wireless. His same devices at a different address work fine, I even tried a 4G router at his house and it worked, so it's definitely the router or ISP.

I updated the router and changed the DNS server to cloudfare(1.1.1.1) and Google(8.8.8.8) which made no difference. I'm not sure what is blocking IPTV, it used to work in this router perfectly until a couple of months ago.

Any ideas?

Have you tried updating the firmware?

Side note: It’s an 11 yr old router that only supports 2.4Ghz, it’s time for a new one.
