Never used vpn before, but want to start playing it safe. Im condidering nordvpn or ipvanish. I ordered a 4k firestick, and now an ethernet adapter thanks to the advice of the community. Now since I am getting a new setup I want to have it clean and secure. (IP is not throttling me or anything like that just want to play it safe).
I also use Surfshark. I used another one before that but switched to surfshark for two reasons.

You can choose a location for the vpn server. So for example, if you are traveling and want to see your local news, you can connect to a server in your area then use an app like locast to get your tv channels from your home market.

Express is fast, unlocks plenty other things also if a little pricey. Prívate VPN is pretty good. Nord is also pretty good.
Just on vpn, I have Purevpn but find that streams don't work when connected but will if not. Not wanting to hijack the op question but I'm wondering if we could go a little deeper and explain how to select a server region or does it matter. Should I select a server from the region the content is being delivered, i.e UK if viewing EPL. Sorry, noob to vpn also..
I would take a look at Surfshark. U get unlimited connections. True No Logs policy and they're based in British Virgin Islands so even if they did keep anything they can't be forced to hand over anything. They're consistently one of the fastest (least speed loss) available right now and if u need the extra speed they also have Wireguard Protocol. They also have an independent 3rd party security company do data and dns leaks tests and report they're findings. It's an excellent VPN, it's what I use and I wouldn't use anything else. They're only like $48 for 2 years or $72/3 yrs. Hope this helps. I'd of course do my own research and I think u will find they have excellent reviews from reputable sources
