Hi there, I'm just wondering why someone would get a vpn for an iptv device (firestick is what I use). Can my Internet provider slow my connection if they think I am using an iptv stream? How would I use one if I wanted to? Thanks!

I use it on phones, android boxes, but mostly because I download torrent files. If you let a torrent to seed after it downloads you will get a letter from your internet provider. My IP address is normally from Canada and I live in the US.
I find using a vpn makes my iptv buffer a bit too much. Luckily my iptv only gets blocked occasionally when the football is on and when it does I use my phone data instead which is never blocked.

If your internet provider also sells cable tv, he has a direct interest in trying to force you to switch from iptv to whatever he is selling. The VPN gets encrypted from the VPNs server to your device, so he may have an idea on what you are doing, but he cant really tell.

Definitely. It is called throttling. Often cell phone providers will slow you down if they feel you are using too much.

Subscribe to a vpn and install their app. Then go into their app and hit "Connect". Also check "Auto Connect" and "Whitelist" options. Auto Connect will connect to your vpn automatically when using certain apps. The whitelist option will tell it not to connect if you are running certain apps. So I set mine up to connect automatically unless I am using Netflix, Hulu or Youtube.
