Does internet speed affect IPTV?

by card66

I currently have internet speeds of around 56 mbps. I am dealing with some buffering issues with my IPTV. Would a higher internet speed help with the buffering? I currently have three phones, three fire sticks and sometimes two laptops all using the same connection.

A higher speed wouldn't hurt, are these other devices using a lot of bandwidth? I have 76 mbps and find if any other device is using more than 30% of the bandwidth my iptv buffers so much its unwatchable. I never figured out why that is, I guess its just one of the mysteries of iptv.

There are many many factors as to why you buffer. And it all starts with your internet. The first thing is to verify if others are experiencing the same. “If it works for 1 or 2 then the problem is on your end. Try using your your sub with phone data...is where i would start to troubleshoot if i had your issue

Yes it does, but so do a bunch of other factors. Are you using a VPN? Time of day, wireless interference, how many people logged on to the server side, all of these could be reasons for buffering.

Ur speed is fast enough but its generally the iptv server that is mostly the issue when buffering happens. Some channels or streams buffer a lot compared to others. Remember its the bandwidth u pay for not the channels!

Hardwiring is the best way to go

When it comes to IPTV, the first thing you should look at is your provider. 56mb is way more than enough bandwidth. Usually buffering is due to the source. As someone said, try it on your phone using data and see what happens. If there isn't any buffering, then it could be your hardware, or software you're using or maybe even your ISP throttling, but this isn't that common
