TL;DR at the end.
I just bought Surfshark to stream content from Hungarian websites (I live in the UK). It works great on my laptop (and presumably any other device that has a native app available), but can't get it to work at all on my LG tv using WebOS.
I tried setting up their SmartDNS on the TV, but that didn't work. (Surfshark do claim that their SmartDNS service currently only supports US content to be fair.) I mean it did connect to the Internet, but didn't solve the region locking issue with the streaming site in question.
Is there any way to 'force' Surfshark's SmartDNS service to give me a Hungarian DNS that works, or I'm stuck with US only for the time being?
And is there any other VPN/smartDNS service that works on tvs running on WebOS? I can still use the laptop to stream whatever via SurfShark's VPN and just connect it to the TV via HDMI, but it's better to stream directly from the TV and its browser...
Thanks, if anyone knows of either a workaround with Surfshark or of any other VPN that supports WebOS.
TL;DR: is there any VPN or SmartDNS service that supports WebOS on TVs?
I use smartdnsproxy and just change my dns manually to the location I want on LG tv. But they don’t have Hungary as a supported country as of yet.
