XTeVe really slow

Question

Xteve is frustratingly slow updating the database or doing any large modifications like bulk updates with a large number of channels (28591 streams, 8976 active). Slow like an hour + before the site is ready when I start xteve. Should I give up on using vod and 24/7 channels that make up the bulk of the channels? I know xml manipulation isn’t a fast process but this is painful.

Use the Xteve filters to select only what you're interested in.

Try using a service like m3u4u to cut down your playlists for you.  The source of your playlists and EPGs matters quite a bit, as well.  Direct from your provider may be much slower than m3u4u's cache of your playlist, instead.
