Device question

by haylz1988

Hi I currently use a firestick at the min, purely because when ive bought android boxes before the remotes are shockingly slow. My firestick can be hit and miss with speed of streams sometimes. I like to use smarters with vlc and dont really have issues. I was thinking of getting something different though. Can anyone recommend a decent android box with a decent fast remote? Thanks!

If it's a 4K stick you should be good, I have no issues on mine; and of course connections to streams are dependent on a multitude of factors. I use tivimate iptv player and it's responsive and smooth.

Formuler GTV.

Just stick with what works and for the price you can't go wrong, unless you got some money and buy a Nvidia shield. That's what I hear anyway. Lol

Fire TV Stick 4k is plenty fast enough, was gifted a Shield TV Pro, and it is an improvement definitely.

If you refer to having to push the remote button, pause push again, it is not the remote that is slow, but the Fire TV Stick, needing time to react. If you know the button sequence, just press it and the Fire TV Stick will catch up. My experience with the Fire TV Stick 4k was not bad at all, and it did everything I asked of it.

Any time anyone asks this question, the answer is always nVidia Shield Pro.

If you like the fire UI then I would upgrade to the FireCube. Double the storage, Ethernet, and a much faster processor gives you a snappier navigation around the ui. Nice device and half the price of a Shield but... Nvidia Shield Pro is king!

i like the firestick, they are easy to replace (if the worst should happen) and don't take up an entire surface as i think android boxes are unsightly, just my opinion, though

Thanks for the input guys! Its not the 4k, its just the standard fire stick so might go with the 4k now. I tried tivimate but couldnt get it to work properly and I like the layout of smarters with the epg unless anyone thinks there is a better app for my iptv?

If I may suggest consider the new Google Chromecast TV $49.99 (can be purchase from almost anywhere), it's 4k ready, full Playstore access, and yes you can install IPTV players.

You can buy an Ethernet adapter from the Google Store. If your device can't reach your router wired, then I suggest a pair of Zyxel 1800Mbps Pass-Thru Powerline Adapter 2-Port Gigabit Ethernet 2-Pack. Regardless of what you choose as a box, the adapter will come in handy if you don't have direct access to your router.
