What do the letters in the channel names mean?

I'm seeing letters like Travel West (Y), truTV (S) and Discovery (P) (F)? Any ideas what these bracketed letters in the channel names mean? Thanks

Different sources usually.

(Y) channel is sourced from Youtube TV, (F) Fubo TV. I think (S) is Sling TV. Not sure about (P).

Mine has a (D) and (R). I thought it might mean direct stream and restream?

From What my iptv provider told me, The letters are used for coding and finding the exact specific channel stream link with the letter.

Usually providers will use country codes. Eg. PT, FR, US... I have never seen those mentioned here.
