Yeah so my girlfriend is currently in Suriname and im in South Africa and we wanna be able to rip apart a movie as we used to do sitting side by side thus im looking for a service that has such a facility. The means to enjoy the movie together and yet be able to talk. Sounds like a tall order i know but you know how it goes...
Really low tech but during lockdown my gf and I were literally just on the phone and pressed play at the same time haha
Plex gives the option to watch together, but as for talking between each other, that would need to be done thru another platform. I have used Discord as well as just having a call open on phones. Neither is perfect, but both work. I found the discord method to work best, just use gaming headphones as the sound output for both Discord and Plex. We both just mute our mics until we want to talk. Also both sides can pause the movie(and restart play), if either of you really need to stop and break something down

If you both had vr headsets you could literally sit in a theater together and watch things.
