Tivimate app on firestick uses more and more storage until it won't open.

by NetworkMachineBroke

We are using Tivimate Free on our Firestick and after so long, the EPG bloat will eventually take up storage space until the app won't open. If we catch it in time, we can just clear the EPG and all is well for awhile. If we don't catch it until the app won't open, we have to clear the app data and re-input the playlist and epg info (not fun on a Firestick with no keyboard).

Is there a setting that will auto-purge the EPG or will we just have to be diligent about clearing it?

Are you using a version from your provider or the official one?

Default days to keep EPG data is 7 I believe. I set it to 1 day, but I don't have catch up.

Same problem. I just deleted it

Never had this issue and it's on about 12 hours a day - just have EPG data for one day.

Isn't this a common thing on Fire Sticks and Android based devices in general, in that the app data and cache just builds up and up, until full and that can be with either lots or little use. I tend to find these devices just slow down over time until wiped and you start over again.

Always clear epg and update it manually once in a while, I do it at least once a month. If you can't be bothered doing this simple maintenance, at least you can backup all your settings and groups/favourites etc. in settings > general > backup data, do this before it happens again and you won't have to re-enter everything after re-installing and restoring data.

First thing to do is get the premium version it's well worth the $20 for a lifetime sub. The premium will allow you to get into the settings menu and also will allow you add other playlists. I have been using it for over a year now and works smooth all the time.
