Downloaded iplaytv on an Apple TV 4K recently. Apps works great except for with certain 50fps feeds. There is a slight stutter every few secs. Not really to do with buffering.
The same channel and provider on GSE works perfectly fine.
Any idea what could be going on and how to fix ?
You need to enable auto frame rate in apple tv's playback settings.
Check in setting to make sure Hardware Acceleration is “ON”.
Just throwing this out there. I am not sure but aren't most movies shot a 30 fps? or 60 fps for special ones? Maybe 50 doesn't parse into 30 or 60 very well?
For those that have no idea, some UK programming is in 25 fps progressive, though some channels send shows interlaced at 50 fps. As for his issue, no idea, this is why Apple TV isn't the best for IPTV.

If nothing works in the end, maybe try a computer monitor and see if it works well, most of them have 50 Hz frequency; 1 Hz is 1 fps. If you still see this issue, then it's probably the ATV not being able to handle it.
