IPTV conundrum

by wonderlust75

I live in NYC where we have access to multiple ISP and I have had no problem using Nord VPN. (Aside from the the fact that NORD VPN cannot help me bypass Apple TV) Therefore I invested in a Formuler z8 against my Apple eco system wishes. I'm still a newbie, so not sure yet if I am sold on it. I really wish that I could use Nord VPN on the Apple TV. That would be the ideal. Or any VPN on Apple TV?

In Long Island Optimum is my only ISP option and they seem to not allow me to use my Nord VPN. It keeps saying that it cannot connect through my Apple TV (which I suppose is normal because that doesn't usually work) nor through my Formuler z8?

It seems that I can connect to VPN through my laptop and my Iphone though. Is this normal?

I have optimum. Never used a vpn for iptv ever and i've had it for about 5 or so years now. Maybe longer. You don't need it.

Maybe get on r/vpn and ask how to get nord running on Apple TV generation .? Might need to run a basic von program and input nords info.

I don't like anything pertaining to Apple TV (that's my personal take on any Apple device) BUT you have an excellent (Android) IPTV STB which should handle the IPTV streams without any issues. I have been in the dedicated IPTV scene for about 8 years and have not looked back (especially with the cutting of the TV cable). I presume you have a fairly fast broadband pipe (100Mb/s+) that can handle 4k streams. As the rest have mentioned, you really do not need a VPN (generally leads to a reduction in speed). Don't want you to think I am selling anything here, but if you want a great IPTV service, send me a DM and I will give you the info. Cheers.

You don't need VPN for IPTV.

Get yourself a good asus router that lets you run asuswrt merlin and then set it up to run on NORDVPN or similar with router kill switch. Then all the traffic on that router will be through vpn. Plug this router into your switch or main router.

Why are you wanting to use a VPN? If your goal is to hide your identity a VPN will not do that. A VPN is totally unnecessary because hiding your IP address does almost nothing for you. That is not the way people get "busted". The way you get busted is by using a real name and/or using traceable payment methods like paypal or credit cards.

The way it typically happens is that the provider gets busted. Authorities seize their equipment and databases with all their customers information. A payment invoice for services with your personal and payment information is proof. An ip address is not. So make sure your payment method is untraceable back to you and don't worry about your IP address which is no longer proof of identity by itself and has been rejected by courts.
