Is there a guide. Or donor don’t? I just bought a shield pro. And don’t have a clue where to start.

If you've got an external NTFS HDD, Paragon is essential to gain write access to that drive. For whatever reason, the KM6 comes read-only from the factory.

Unfortunately, the only file manager it interfaces with after you mount it is Total Commander and that isn't available from the built-in Play Store. You'll have to download and install F-Droid first and then from there, Aurora Store. Then you must spoof your session in Aurora as a "Realme 5 Pro" (or anything that resembles API 29, armeabi-v7a, which is the closest thing to the KM6 environment). You should be able to open Total Commander from Aurora after that. The interface definitely isn't optimized for remote controllers, so you'll be better suited with a wireless mouse. You can left-click to select, long left-click to bring up the secondary menu, and right-click to go back.

What sucks even more is that, like many Android TV devices (the new Google Chromecast included), it doesn't properly support the Storage Access Framework, so you won't be able to access the drive directly with other apps like LibreTorrent or different file managers.

Also, don't bother trying to sideload HBO Max. It'll install without complaint, and all the little menu noises lead you to think everything's going to be okay, but when you go to play anything, there's no audio at all. I know it's not a codec or audio routing issue because if I Cast it from the HBO Max app on my phone, it plays flawlessly. It's just a buggy app that they need to fix for Android TV.

And I think I've already mentioned LibreTorrent. It's the best native torrent client on the market to date. You'll find it in the standard F-Droid repo. It's just too bad it can't save directly to external storage due to the missing OS SAF components as well as from the torrent library it relies on for core functionality. At least you can manually move files afterward.

CosmiDVR add-on for "Live Channels" to turn it into an IPTV Player and DVR or CosmiTV Player for a stand alone IPTV Player and DVR
