Image Issue Streaming from VLC to Chromecast with some Channels

by emgprod

Hello, I just purchased a Chromecast hoping to stream IPTV from my computer using VLC, but some channels appear like this on the TV for some channels (premium sports channels):

I assume this is some setting with VLC. Anyone can help with this?

Or if there is any PC IPTV player alternative to VLC that works with Chromecast, please let me know.

Appreciated

How good is your PC? I mean, I have a pretty basic Intel NUC, a NUC7PJYH, so Pentium Silver and 8GB RAM. On that I use OBS, Open Broadcaster software and NGINX gryphon rtmp. It's all over the OBS forums how to set up but you run OBS on your PC and stream to rtmp://localhost:1935/live and then you can pick up that stream on any device that can connect to watch RTMP streams.

I understand what it is you're wanting to do. You can add VLC sources, files, playlists, the transport streams from your IPTV provider into OBS.

sounds like the channel has an active DRM by the TV company to prevent re-streaming

Why would you not just install player such as Tivimate on the Chromecast??? No reason to be casting anything.
