M3U vs Stalker/MAG - what's the difference? Which one is better?

by Fefarona

After MAG's get hacked and Infomir switch from Stalker to Maestro Portal, weneed to switch to Android. The provider told me to go with m3u links and sip.tv (I don't like it). Now I'm not sure, what's the difference. I download the m3u file and open it with editor. Few weeks ago I try a MAG Emulator but the provider don't allow that :( Is that true, that sip.tv and stalker are just playing M3U files? I really don't understand, whats the difference :/

use players like tivimate for m3u (or xtream code ) in android and you will love it

Each have their audience but

  1. MAC usually 1acc per device while M3U can have multiple connections per household.

  2. m3u is cheaper with additional devices... Mac is same price for addional devices..unless you get a nice reseller.

  3. m3u is either xtreme login with login/pw or client provides a file. New software eliminates need for file nowadays....but some still want it. Mac is whatever provider displays..

  4. each type differ in channels categories, quality, epg, vod, 24/7, etc...Best to test different providers...and make sure you have a backup to a backup...

  5. imo, stalker is better but again, lots of trial and error...

  6. don't listen to anyone... test...trials...try both types and refer to 4/5

  7. try not to buy long term contracts... any sub can go down ... remember you pay up-front

  8. appears there is a higher turn over with m3u providers so be careful

I think that's it...

I'm sure there are some criticism... but it's a start.

  1. quality/stability or quantity of channels or price

Pick 2...seldom you will find all three

Mag/stalker are a great option for foreign content especially India content as most India mag/stb services have guide, catchup, India live tv, movies and tv series. If its just english content you want stick with iptv smarters or tivimate for android. Also most m3u services will allow you to use more than 1 connection per account.
