Looking for opinions on best device to run my IPTV on. Currently looking at either chromecast with TV or Miibox s 4k. I use Smarters IPTV and not a lot else really, but watch in 4k. Thanks

4k firestick + tivimate is plenty for iptv
Shield is best if no budget. TiVo Stream 4K is an amazing Android TV OS system for a budget. And as mentioned TiviMate... 🤙
Nvidia Sheild - it’s processing speed, clarity and single source functionality is worth the price. You will never be disappointed with it. I have used multiple devices since 2014 and finally settled on NVidia Sheild Pro since last 4 years. It’s worth the money and will last you for at least 10 years.
The 4k firestick has been the general go to for value - as can tell by the mentions here already - but I'd suggest the new Chromecast with Google TV.
I've personally got both, and I find the Chromecast has the nicer remote, UI, and general tivimate performance is better. Plus, having the play store makes installing your app of choice easier, instead of the sideloading usually needed for firestick.
Shield with Tivimate Smarters is a junk app
I run 4 4k firesticks with TiviMate.. It's plenty for IPTV, Cinema, Emby etc
Nvidia Shield expensive but very good
4k firestick. however i just use my providers EPG as i'm lazy
My Shield Pro barely lasted 2 years before it became an expensive paperweight. All it was used for is steaming with a game or two once in awhile.
AppleTV with Snappy IPTV app.
Snappy IPTV - it’s a paid app but worth it. It will sync your settings, IPTV accounts, recently watched, etc via iCloud between AppleTV, iPhone, iPad.
I'd go this order..
Sony TV with Android TV OS & TiviMate
Nvidia Shield & TiviMate
4K Firestick & TiviMate
I'm currently using all of these setups around the house. Can you find the common element?
Apple TV 4K with iProTV App
Shield for sure.
How do people rate the chromecast with google tv? I know tivimate runs on it. It's similar price to the Firestick 4k for me (29 firestick 4k vs 39 chromecast) chromecast is better spec'd than the fire stick and I've seen how well tivimate performs on the fire stick so I expect similar levels of good performance. Just I have Google devs in my home not alexas so wanted to keep with that ecosystem ideally, or at least an android base with Google assistant support or something
Firestick + Vpn + tivimate + local storage for recordings
Is it possible to just run this stuff on a PC?
Like, I don't have a firestick or a shield or whatever, and feel it would be pointless to buy one as I have a PC connected to the telly anyway - It seems like a stupid question but I can't really see anything about running this stuff on anything but firesticks etc.
This question gets asked weekly. If you want the best proprietary use Formuler or Buzz Tv. Otherwise get a Shield with Tivimate or IMPLAYER.
BuzzTV is the best device out there.
We'll...Nvidia shield or pro if there's no budget
Ccwgtv, fs 4k, fs cube, tivo, dynalink, meecool or any certified Google tv or android tv box...
On budget ccwgtv, 4k or tivo...
Best to hardwire
firestick + smarters and a good quality service (good provider)
The best...Shield Pro
The best bang for the buck...firestick
Only use Tivimate
Been using z7+ with 0 issue for years now.
Go for chromocast with tv.that is what I'm using, easy to set up and no issues over 6 months now
For smarters the 4k Amazon AFTV devices work well for me and not too harsh on the price. The Formuler boxes are pretty cool. If your IPtV supplier supports Mag devices then it has a sweet portal (way better than Infomir).
Implayer on a half decent device. Awesome player
Nvidia sheild
The spartan remote of the firestick is a big issue with some apps like STBEmu. MiiBox has a similar remote.
A 4K firestick with the TiviMate premium app is all you need… Now yeah a Nvidia shield would be the way to go, but unless you’re going to be gaming it’s really not worth the extra money, because a 4K fire stick can do the same job….
