buffering

by canopy45

guys i keep getting buffering no matter what service i try...i thought the nvidia shield would work but its not

milhouse2k

you are sure no issues on your side? Good internet? Could just be luck of trying ones that don't work well for you so far.

Exit-Moist

Have you tested the speed of your internet connection or plugging the shield into the router if possible?

Could be a lot of things. Is your ISP having issues? Very many IPTV providers are not so good, so is it possible this applies to all the ones you've tried? Are you using a third-party app such as Tivimate? I've found that branded apps often stream smoother than third-party apps when band width is lower. I've probably tried a dozen IPTV providers before my current one and always had a lot more buffering than now. My current provider almost never buffers but they limit the number of customers to keep service levels high. Most providers seem to sell as many subscriptions as they can and end up overloading their servers.

i switched to Nord VPN which helped my buffering enormously, still buffers sometimes, but much less now

ISPs have been known to throttle known IPTV (as in non-Sling or Netflix/etc.) systems. Using a VPN bypasses this throttle. I have experienced this before.

Always try resetting your router before anything

If you are using a vpn, try changing the server. I used to have buffering but when I changed my server to another city I never buffered anymore. Even ppvs are perfectly streamed now. So sometimes the vpn server you’re using might have bad routing to the channels on your iptv. So try a few different cities.

Could be your Internet Could be your provider Test your connection speed Try a vpn they can sometimes Improve iptv play back

Have you tried setting you network connection from 2.4ghz to 5ghz? I've seen this issue on firesticks a few times. Phones, microwaves, baby monitors, and garage door openers all use the 2.4ghz frequency and can raise havoc on iptv boxes. Just a thought.

adam_805

Had this issue as well (using tube Nivida shield) Unplugging my modem from power source and router for a couple minutes seemed to work for me.

Realistic-Ad9800

Try it at someone else's house using a totally different network

peterthescot13

On my old internet with 58mbps I could only watch SD streams. Now with 500mbps I can watch FHD ones perfectly on a fire stick. Although your internet may seem fast enough for other things streaming uses quite a lot.

I had the exact same issue with the last 2 IPTV provider's I had. No matter how many times I rebooted the Firestick or Roku the service went downhill after the first couple of months. TBH I think half the problem with these services is way to many resellers who are only in it for the £££ and they have no idea how it works and how to fix issues that there customers have. It's always the same standard reply to any problems ( well it's working ok here) I experienced picture no sound or sound no picture also pixelated picture when my last one ran out I gave up on it.

gentrevnl

Would you like to try a trial of my service to see if you have better luck

Turn off battery saver?

I have a mate who's iptv buffered. He tried swapping iptv providers, vpn, new firestick, lan instead of wifi but nothing worked.

I went to have a look, his speed tests were fine but when I tried an ftp download test I noticed his broadband speed dropped randomly every few minutes. Broadband engineer came and said there was nothing wrong because Netflix worked fine.

Luckily he has unlimited data on his phone so he now runs iptv from his mobile hotspot and it works perfectly.

As a fellow shield pro(2019) owner let me ease your frustration, beyond buggy isp issues or router issues, understand the Shield is also random and buggy a device. Sure it's great when it works as intended but as I've discovered in my 2 years of use it'll also make you want to cry.

When in doubt, restart the device, clear app cache, change geo location(if used) and try again. Obviously always test your internet connection and use LAN over WAN, if you're able, log into your router and check for stability.. My router has been strange lately and has caused much frustration, but I found resetting it has helped most times when all else has failed.

Also, if you do own a shield pro(haven't read which you own) I highly advise you mount external storage as your main storage, yes the shield can handle a lot on its own but I found that mounting m2. Ssd over an external enclosure has all but eliminated buffer and most issues aside from of course isp and router bugs.

Hope this helps, I'll try to read on though, you might have already found your solution 🤷🏻‍♂️

Edit: ah also hard to rule out bad server stability so always check providers if possible
