Shield + Tivimate + then what?

by bigfoodguy

I currently use a Mag box and very recently learned that it is not the ideal set up to be using. I plan on purchasing a Shield and installing Tivimate but I’m confused as to where to go from there.

From my understanding, Tivimate is just a player for IPTV. I then need to purchase an actual IPTV subscription.

  1. Where do I do this?
  2. How do I know which channels a specific subscription has?
  3. How do I integrate my Tivimate and IPTV subscription?

I have a Samsung Smart TV for context.

Shop around, plenty of choices out there.. But you're asking for specifics.. Something clearly against the rules here, for good reason. With that said, do your best google thang and find free or low cost trials many offer it and will help you get setup.

Beyond that, it's no harder than literally using an app.. Troubleshooting is a whole other demon, but you'll cross that bridge when you're ready too.

Sorry I've gotta be vague but it's really not very hard to find the info you're looking for with very simple googling tbh.

Edit : your TV is irrelevant if you're getting a shield just saying

Fire Cube and Tivimate work extremely well together. Search, read, and trial/error. Most offer trials. Don’t be afraid to change providers. Don’t settle. Find a provider that provides what you want. Tivimate purchase is simple. Best IPTV player IMO.

REAL DEBRID is a must have for apps like CinemaHD and BeeTV and Kodi

I can't offer advice sadly, buy may I ask if you are paying for the TiviMate premium service? I found a service I like but when I navigate through TiviMate after entering username/password, it wants me to upgrade to premium which, although hoping I'm mistaken, $119 per year(!) So now I'm trying to find a free IPTV player and have asked the support guys at the IPTV service what's up.
The sub I had previously had way too much buffering but they provided me with a free APK to install on my Shield(s). Arrrgghh

EDIT: well I found the answer thanks to their support. The sub group has their own version of TiviMate and some other APK's which I downloaded from their Filelinked site. I suppose I will leave this comment here in the hopes it may help someone else equally green. :)

You can skip the Shiled if you want IPTV - there are good Smart TV apps for your Samsung which work well. If you want to use your own m3u list or portal - you are limited to bunch of apps however you can expect quality ranging from studio feed all the way down to something shot with an old 3g phone's camera.

If you have this many questions, I'd avoid the shield.

As a shield user myself, I'd say there are much better devices out there for iptv such as the formuler boxes.

If guy get the shield, not only will you need to manually set up providers and epgs, you'd also need to pay extra for tivimate and figure out how to do all the licensing stuff. From the sound of it you won't be using it for Nvidia gamestreaming or anything, so it's money wasted if you're just using it for iptv.

Do yourself a favor and look up the formuler devices on YouTube and see if you like the looks of it. It's designed for iptv out of thr box where the shield is NOT designed for iptv.
