Hey tv lovers

I'm new to this but here goes based on the information I got.

The channels/providers I want seem to be in the portal/stbemu side of things and not on the m3u.

Firestick even with an otg cable + USB stick can only do pvr on m3u. All apps I tried didn't work. I contacted a provider and they told me these set top boxes come with special software and I need to buy one. Without it, I get no features such as catch up, pvr. At least on the portal services.

I have had 2 providers suggest the formuler z alpha. Which is an Android box. Same as Amazon cube but this box has "special" software. Shame I can't put that software on any android box.

I don't know which box to get. Z alpha formuler? Mag series? I'm very overwhelmed if someone can make sense of anything im saying please let me know.

Any suggestions or tips welcomed.

Your best route is Xtreme Codes, not m3u or STB.

Find a reputable provider that has a ton of content AND has catch-up on almost all of their channels on the USA, UK and CAN side. They can be had for around $10 a month for 2 connections.

Then download Tivimate and activate Premium ($7.99 per year for up to 5 devices, $20 for lifetime) and feed the Xtreme Codes the provider gave you into it.

Done.

You really won't need to record because you have catch up, but since you have the Firestick with the OTG cable plug a USB drive in and record if you want to.

What do you mean the contents you want is only on STB side? What content are you looking for that other service don't have?

There are many options available. Pick a great app then find a great provider. Don’t buy anything until you try it.

For devices:

N. Shield abit overkill for IPTV but it works well. Buy it and dont worry about the cost.

2.Formuler any model designed for IPTV. As others have suggested; Tivimate as the app also OTT Navigator. If you, like me, enjoy full scale customization of channels etc then these 2 apps work well.

I dont like Smarters because even though you can hide the categories you cannot hide individual channels. That's what I mean by full control. It really depends on the type of person you are and what you like to achieve.

Also, Xtreme Codes the way to go. Much more convenient to plug in with EPG incorporated. M3u is outdated and unsafe.Unlikely given out these days and if they do without you asking, then you must be skeptical of that particular provider.
