Box suggestions

by Darzinho

Have been using a MAG 322 box for 4 years with an IPTV subscription. I'm reading now that MAGs are no longer a great choice, which I'm in some ways relieved about as I can't find them in the country I'm based.

Looking for a replacement. Formulers don't seem to be available here either (in Vietnam), but there are a lot of alternatives.

What boxes are people using now for IPTV with a budget of max 100 dollars?

Does anybody have any experience with a T95 Android box?

For your budget these are the best options:

  1. Xiaomi Mi Box S
  2. Amazon Firestick 4K

T95 and other Chinese boxes with mobile version of Android are real trash.

I suggest ask your provider first. Some don't give out urls and you must use their apps for your iptv. This will rule out getting certain expensive boxes. Best of luck

Mi-Box S, Fire TV stick 4k, Google Chromecast with Google TV. Best is a Shield. These would be my choices.

The Chinese boxes, are a toss up. - they might work, they might not.

Just remember if you were using the Magbox for a specific service mag/mac subscription with Vietnam content, your new android box will need the stbemu emulator app which tries to emulate/mimic the magbox. Then there's the process of learning keys on your android remote for the emulator to function properly. Yes the mag did block a few ports in the past but there's been no more reports as of late. I'm still running them and I am not afraid to but another. In the long run its your decision. Buy an Android type box with all the bloat or a box that's very simple to run.

I have Formuler 7, Formuler 8, Nvidia Shield, Apple TV 4K, Chromecast w/ Google TV and Firestick 4K.

Sold the Formulers.

Apple TV 4K is my goto for IPTV and Netflix etc.

Chromecast w/Google TV is actually really awesome if you are looking for budget streamer. Very responsive.

Shield is good to but expensive.

Firestick 4K is OK just a little slow.

Thanks all. I think I'll hold off until I can get the Xiaomi S. I see other Xiaomis are available, but not that particular one.

I'll stick with the Mag for IPTV for now, and I've managed to sort out a good Kodi setup on an Android box I already had.

Thanks for the advice!
